About this Event
Who? Open to young riders aged 5-12 who have developed some skills in the community club events or previous Beacon RCC coaching.
What? Training sessions developing bike skills, leading up to some fun racing.
When? Wednesdays 17:00-18:00 (21 February only) or 17:30-18:30 (all other dates).
Where? Moseley School Fitness Centre outdoor netball courts. The address is Golden Hillock Road, Small Heath, Birmingham, B11 2PY. Please head for 'Ackers Base Camp'.
Why? Develop skills, fitness and tactics.
What equipment do I need? A working bike; helmet; gloves; clothing that can keep you warm enough – but not so you get too hot putting an effort in; layers are good. See Bike, Helmet and Clothing Checklist (PDF). For the January sessions, please make sure the bike has lights and the rider is wearing something bright!
What if I haven’t got a bike like that? Let us know by selecting the 'borrow-a-bike' option and we can sort it out. We aim to have bikes available for the sessions but do check first (NB: not available 13 September).
Safeguarding: The club's welfare officer is Kate Dighton, who can be contacted at [email protected].
How much? The sessions are free of charge for members. Junior club membership is £5. Non-members are welcome at £2 per session.
Do I have to fill anything in? Please complete a consent form (DOC) for all riders and email to [email protected] in advance. For the young riders, a parent/carer must be present.
