Walking meditation is and has always been a significant alternative to sitting meditation, especially for those starting a new practice. The goal of meditation is to be able to practice in all positions, conditions and activities whether sitting, standing, walking, lying down, or whenever awake.Developing mindfulness doesn't have to happen in a quiet room without any distracting sights or sounds. In fact we can develop our mindfulness while out in nature; feeling the warmth of the sun on our backs and the cool ocean splashing around our feet..
Let's practice meditation in motion while creating a potent wellness experience that enhances mental clarity, alertness, and overall well-being.
We'll meet WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS at 8 am by the lifeguard tower 24. See flag as in the photos. After some basic instructions we'll walk silently together for approximately 45 minutes on the shoreline at a natural pace from tower 24 towards the Pier and back.
Everyone is always welcomed to join whether new to meditation or with many years of experience. Please feel free to reach out with any concerns or questions and please arrive 5 minutes early as we will begin walking promptly at 8. Don't forget to check the schedule for any changes or cancellations.
Stacey has been meditating and studying Buddhism for over 25 years. She has studied under some of the most prominent Buddhist scholars and Meditation teachers in both the Ch'an (Zen) and Theravada tradition and has traveled and lived in Myanmar and Sri Lanka to further her knowledge and practice. Stacey has been teaching meditation since 2018 and started leading retreats in person and on line since 2021. Stacey is an extremely dedicated Buddhist practitioner, and nothing gives her more pleasure than sharing what she's spent decades learning with others.
