Weekly Public Beach Cleanup
Join Beach Squad for our free weekly public beach cleanups, held every Sunday from March through September (weather permitting). These cleanups are open to individuals, families, and small groups of 4 or fewer looking to give back and help keep our beaches clean!
Beach Squad provides all cleanup supplies - just register for free here on Eventbrite, show up, check in, and clean for as long as you’d like within the cleanup window. Every little bit helps, and everyone is welcome!
📍 QUICK INFO
- Location: Sun Splash Park, Daytona Beach
- Cleanup Window: 8:30 AM – 10:45 AM
- Meeting Spot: Look for the Beach Squad tent, red cleanup buckets, and red cleanup flag on the beach
- Who Can Participate: All ages welcome. All volunteers need to register.
WHAT’S PROVIDED
Beach Squad provides everything you need, including:
- Cleanup buckets (assigned at check-in)
- Trash pickers
- Gloves
- Trash bags
- Hand sanitizer
You’ll be assigned a bucket when you arrive, and we’ll weigh the trash collected at the end of the cleanup.
WHAT TO BRING
- Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting sandy
- Closed-toe shoes or sandals you can walk in
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
- Reusable water bottle
- Positive attitude!
CHECK-IN & CLEANUP FLOW
- All volunteers check in at the Beach Squad tent
- You’ll sign in and be assigned a bucket
- We’ll give a quick rundown of where to go and what to pick up
- Group photo if desired
- Head out to clean!
- Return buckets by 10:45 AM for weighing and wrap-up
🚗 PARKING INFO
- Volusia County residents can register for yearly free parking for all parking lots in Volusia here:
https://www.parkvolusia.org/ - Paid parking is available at the Sun Splash Park lot for non-volusia residents
- Free parking is also available on side streets across from the Sun Splash Parking lot (please follow any posted 'no parking' signs)
WEATHER NOTICE
The weather can change quickly near the beach. If conditions are unsafe (heavy rain or winds over 15mph), Beach Squad will need to cancel the cleanup. Volunteers will be contacted through our social media pages and Eventbrite emails. Cancellations are usually last-minute as we try to stick out the weather as long as we can!
