Ready for Band?Be Tikka Banda for a Day is a hands-on music experience that invites participants to step inside a real band environment and discover what it truly feels like to rehearse and perform as part of a working ensemble.
Set within an open-air public space, the event brings together musicians, families, and the wider community for a day where music-making unfolds naturally and in real time. Under the guidance of guest conductor Roderick Bugeja, participants rehearse, shape sound and rhythm, and build collective energy as they work towards a final open-air concert that emerges organically within the space.
Alongside the main band experience, Be Tikka Banda for a Day is family-friendly and open to the general public. Throughout the day, families, friends, and accompanying guests can enjoy a range of activities, including Tikkini Music Sessions, which engage younger audiences through playful, interactive music-making. Outdoor music games, street art, and on-site catering contribute to a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging people to stay, explore, and connect.
The programme also features a live supporting set by Morgan Mage & Tristan Oa, leading audiences into the final concert and building momentum towards the day’s shared performance moment.
Be Tikka Banda for a Day is not a traditional concert or workshop. It is an immersive musical experience where preparation and performance happen side by side, fostering connection, confidence, and participation at every level. Taking place at Ta’ Qali National Park, the event celebrates music as a lived, communal experience within Malta’s public spaces.
The event is created by Tikka Banda and, for this year’s edition, is supported by VisitMalta and the Malta National Park, with Vibe FM as the supporting radio partner.
