Please join me on the evening of October 11th, to partner with me and “Be the Change” we want to see and that we desperately need.
I mean, let’s be honest with ourselves: we have all had enough business as usual.
Like many of you, my patience with modern American politics has run out. I am done tolerating the same talking points and supporting candidates we cannot trust to do the right thing when nobody is looking.
The last few years in elected office have been deeply revealing and equally devastating. I have looked around at a country that is led by dishonest actors and careerist politicians, completely disconnected from the everyday struggles of the people they serve ... or worse, willing to ignore and dismiss them when it risks their own self-interest.
Most folks I know are also sick of traditional political fundraisers, or don’t attend them in the first place for good reasons. I personally cannot stomach one more event where I will be served dry rubber chicken and political platitudes, with no commitment to doing the actual work it will take to push us forward together.
What I want more than anything right now are leaders that truly give a sh*t.
I want to cut through the noise and move past the transactional politics that so often insults our intelligence and leads to voter alienation and apathy. Instead, come out, have a good time, and help support me and those with the courage to run and lead with caring hearts and stiff backbones.
To set the right tone, I am launching this kickoff event of my new political action committee dedicated to supporting real leaders by honoring the revolutionary who has been one of my greatest inspirations, legendary Indigenous civil rights icon Ramona Bennett. And as a keynote, I am honored to host our Attorney General, Nick Brown, who is leading by example on some of the most important issues facing our country and state, while fearlessly demanding the White House to “follow the damn law.”
