The Castle Canteen operates on Monday Lunchtimes from Crossways Christian Centre in Elephant & Castle.
PLEASE NOTE
VOLUNTEERING TIME
From 22nd August 2022, the volunteer time has changed to 10.30am-3pm. (Previously 11am-3pm)*
Arrive at 10:30am to plan and cook a healthy 3 course vegetarian meal from locally sourced surplus fresh produce.
Lunch will be served to members of the local community from 1.00pm with the volunteering session finishing around 3:00pm.
Volunteering and Coronavirus
We're committed to keeping our guests, staff and volunteers safe, so we've introduced a number of health and safety measures at our canteens:
• Social distancing measures in place
• Increased frequency of cleaning on site
• Safe numbers of volunteers
• Regular hand washing
• Sanitising stations
On booking your place, you will receive full instructions for attendance, including Coronavirus guidance, and Food and Kitchen Safety training.
We look forward to cooking up something special with you!
• All ages are welcome, however if you are under the age of 18, please contact the organiser for more information.
IMPORTANT: Sometimes we have corporate volunteers attend our canteens as a team. If a date is not shown it is because we have a group coming together that day. We still very much welcome individual volunteers on other sessions.
