About this Event
The educational conference "Be Brave: The Inflammatory Edge: New Directions in Arthritis, Osteoporosis, and Autoimmune Conditions” is designed to deliver a broad, up-to-date overview of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, highlighting the research development, therapeutic advances, and proper clinical care. The information presented will support primary physicians in the early recognition of these chronic conditions and timely referral of patients, while also providing specialist physicians with updated perspectives on management strategies and treatment approaches. The conference will focus on the following diseases:
1. Rheumatoid Arthritis
2. Osteoporosis
3. Gout and CPPD Disease
5. Psoriatic Arthritis
6. Obesity and the Autoimmune Connection
Our esteemed lineup of speakers includes four renowned physicians from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, as well as five specialists from Puerto Rico. Each speaker brings extensive clinical and research expertise in rheumatic and/or autoimmune conditions. Dr. Michael E. Weinblatt, Dr. Katherine Liao, Dr. Sara Tedeschi, and Dr. Julia Charles will travel to Puerto Rico to share their expertise in rheumatology with attendees. In collaboration with Dr. Radamés Sierra Zorita, and Dr. José González Chávez, the program will address inflammatory autoimmune conditions in adult patients. Pediatric autoimmune and inflammatory disorders will be covered by Dr. Elivette Zambrana-Flores, a Pediatric Rheumatologist, and Dr. Wihelma Echevarría, a Pediatric Gastroenterologist.
Physicians attending this free of charge conference will have the opportunity to earn 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s™) upon successful completion of the pre-post examination and subject to the extent of their participation in the activity.
