We will meet at our space at 111 YMCA Drive in Baytown, across the road from the police department and begin the process of wrapping all of the gifts. If you would like to volunteer show up at the above location during the time posted in our Upcoming Events Tab and we will find something for you to help do.
*Since we do not know ahead of time how many volunteers we will have, when they will arrive or how many families we will provide for, we are unable to guarantee there will be something for everyone to do. Jobs will be presented on a first come, first serve basis.
Baytown Blue Santa is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit program organized by officers and detectives from the Baytown Police Department with support from the Baytown Municipal Police Association. Each year, Baytown Blue Santa provides children of families in need with wrapped Christmas gifts and other needed household items, so that the children in these families can experience the magic and joy of the Christmas season.
Baytown Blue Santa has been providing families of Baytown with assistance since the 1970’s. This would not be possible without the support and donations from the local community and businesses each year.
The Baytown Blue Santa program accepts applications for assistance starting in late October to early November. The applications are reviewed and qualifying families receive assistance.
The number of families that can be helped depends on the number of donations and contributions the program receives from its donors. After the applications are reviewed, the Blue Santa board determines the families to be helped.
Some of the gifts are delivered to the families by employees of the city of Baytown and other volunteers on the designated delivery day. Some applicants will be asked to pick up their presents from our home next to the YMCA.
