Join us on Sunday, March 29 as we experience waterfowl migration around the Green Bay Area!Late March is an excellent time of year to see thousands of ducks as they make their trek to their breeding grounds. The Green Bay Area offers an excellent array of stopover habitat for these birds. We will explore a variety of habitats including areas that have open water, but also areas of shallower wetlands. Depending on the weather, we also may take a walk in the woods looking for early passerines like Winter Wren and kinglets.
We will also be joined by a few locals that will educate us on conservation efforts in the Bay Area and working with the Oneida Nation!
Weather for the end of March is capricious; it can be very winter-like or be conducive for wearing shorts. Keep an eye on the forecast beforehand and dress accordingly.
We will rendezvous and figure out carpool arrangements at Artist and Fare in Plover at 7:00AM. Expect to be in GB around 8:30AM, our first location will be Bay Beach Sanctuary where we will explore the different trails on the property.
