This is a reenactment for the 1781 “Battle of The Village” which occurred near modern day Daphne, AL. After the loss of Mobile to the Spanish, the British launched a counter-attack from Pensacola aimed at taking a Spanish palisade fort which was constructed near a French village called “The Village.” The British counter-attack ultimately failed when the commander of the British forces, Colonel Johann Von Hanxleden, died in combat.**REGISTRATION DETAILS COMING SOON.**
This will be a 2-day event and reenactors are welcome to camp at the park from Friday to Sunday. The primary reenactment will take place on Saturday, and a skirmish will take place Sunday morning. The official schedule will be coming soon.
