Heavy rain beat down on the old tavern. It had seen better days. An inept bard strums away on the last two strings of an old loot. Straw and mud covered the floor, and everything smelled like wet goat.
A gaggle of excitable individuals sat clustered in the corner. They each had little name tags and black hoods. Their leader, a gangly fellow, read from a tattered old book.
“And the Ginger, oh most orange, looked out over the people and did sayeth unto them, Umm”.
The little congregation nodded their heads and bobbed their knees, staring at the floor or ceiling to avoid eye contact.
“When going forth in battle against the heathens, one must not forget sunblock, for it keeps the souls in.”
His audience ummed in appreciation as their leader looked up, putting down the book.
“Brethren. The time has come for our return. The Rebels are weak since banishing the mad Emperor into the forest, and the Horde has yet to return since being driven from these lands. The time has come for another Ginger Crusade. Today, I received word that the Ginger Priest himself shall be returning. It is time for us to leave the shadows and slather ourselves in sunblock, for this year, the Golden Skull will be ours.”
