Get ready for one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year as the Bay Area’s Portuguese Community proudly presents "Battle of the Bifanas 2" on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 at the historic I.E.S. Hall in the heart of San Jose's Little Portugal. Following the massive success of the 2025 edition, which drew over 3,500 attendees, this second-ever Portuguese cookoff and cultural celebration promises to be even bigger and better! The festivities kick off at 12pm with the start of the Bifana Cookoff competition, at which point you'll also find a huge variety of incredible food, music, and activities for all ages, that continues nonstop until nightfall. As the sun goes down we'll close out the night with another EPIC headlining performance featuring an amazing band that will be announced later this Spring.
Guests can enjoy a huge selection of mouthwatering Portuguese food, pastries, and more, explore 50+ vendor booths showcasing cultural products, apparel, artifacts, services, and beyond, and experience an unforgettable entertainment lineup featuring dancers, comedians, vocalists and bands—plus a few unreal surprises that we’re keeping under wraps.
This is a full-day, can’t-miss celebration of culture, flavor, and community! We invite attendees of all ages and ethnicities to join us and come see why the whole world is talking about Portugal- without needing to leave the Bay Area!
