Lieutenant-General Monash's famous Battle of Hamel on 4 July 1918 was the first time that troops from the United States took part in an infantry attack during World War I. To recognise the importance of this event the Central Queensland Military Museum is hosting a talk about the Battle of Hamel at the Museum on Sunday 5 July, following the commemerative service at St Christopher's Chapel earlier in the afteernoon. Entry is by gold coin donation.
