We're reviving an old village tradition with a fresh twist—introducing the new🎄🎶Baston Carol Trail!🎶🎄Starting from The Black Horse at 6:30 pm, we'll make our way through the village, singing carols🎶accompanied by live music 🎸🎺🪗 thanks to the excellent Alan Wood and his folk friends! Carol sheets will be provided to help everyone sing along!
The trail ends at The White Horse around 7:30 pm, where the talented Bourne Borderers Morris dancers will greet us with an outdoor performance. From there, the festivities continue inside with a lively, seasonal Mummers' Play, one of England's oldest Christmas traditions dating back more than a thousand years 🎶🎭. These were essentially the original pantomimes, blending drama, humour, and folklore. Expect lots of cheering for the heroes and booing for the villains!
