About this Event
Hand Sewing Basics
This class will cover how to thread a needle, anchor a thread, do a running stitch, basting stitch, back stitch, blind stitch, and how to end a stitch. Then, if we have time, how to do a fell stitch, parachute stitch, blanket stitch, how to cut a buttonhole, and how to sew on a button.
This class is beginner-friendly and all supplies will be provided!
Instructor Cirrus Wood is a self-taught artisan who enjoys coming up with and learning fun designs to make clothing more visually appealing and more durable. He runs his own mending and tailoring business 'Muzhik' - named for the Russian word for peasant, but a muzhik is also someone resourceful, someone who can be relied upon to come up with a creative fix.
