About this Event

This is a 2 hour CE/CPE webinar for CPAs and EAs presented live on Janaury 21st, 2025. 3pm EST (12 pm PST)

Revised and updated for 2025!

Penalties are a common aspect of just about every IRS Collection case. They are also very involved in the Examination side of the house. But what are penalties exactly? What creates a penalty? Can you get out of every penalty if you have a good excuse?

In this class we will discuss the history of penalties, why they exist, the most common penalties you will encounter in IRS Representation and the criteria for relief of penalties. We will also discuss the First Time Penalty Abatement (FTA).

Come join us for this fun and exciting look into penalties. We will even examine how penalties can be used to make you a hero (or heroine) to your clients and make money in the process.

Note: This class is conducted via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link immediately upon checkout and in several reminder emails from Eventbrite.
