About this Event
The "Absurd" character is a staple of comedy. This course focuses on the most crucial type of absurd character: the fool or schmuck.
Over 8 sessions you'll learn how to how to make these powerfully comedic characters a part of your skillset. Find out what works, what doesn't, as well as the tips and techniques used universally by comedy improvisers, podcasters, and writers alike!

Joel is a comedian, writer, and director based in Pōneke - Wellington. He has studied improv and sketch internationally with iO Theatre, The Annoyance, Upright Citizens Brigade, Second City, and The Pack, as well as local improv schools. You can catch him occasionally performing with Wellington comedy groups "Catfish Trifecta" and "Garbage City".
