About this Event
Can the future of a town centre be decided without understanding its past? Hear about the history of Barrow’s Centre, from the early Victorian boom years through to the redevelopments of the 1960s and ‘90s – and what current plans might mean for the town’s heritage and its future. Jean McSorley, local historian, and Susan Benson, archivist, will take you
through the history of this fascinating part of Barrow.
Susan Benson was the archivist at Barrow Archive Centre. Jean McSorley is the author of Mud, Mayhem & Moneymen: the Making of Barrow Town 1840-1890.
