Barr and Grosvenor Foundry Visit

This is an exciting visit to one of Britain’s last foundries which specialises in the production of cast iron artefacts for the heritage community. We will be visiting on a working day when the furnace will be working and we will be able to see it tapped and the process of moving this vat of molten metal to the casting floor.

Also, during the visit, we will see various castings from previous commissions which will show the intricacy and variety possible with this process.

Visitors will need to wear strong shoes and clothing which is both warm and close fitting.
