Performing 📆 Saturday 18 April, 8:30pmAt a time of uncertainty, BARKAA’s debut became the shake-up the Australian music scene needed.
Stepping forward in 2020, she arrived with impact — a powerful artistic vision and a fearless, honest approach to storytelling. In just a few years, the Malyangapa, Barkindji woman has emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting hip hop artists, known for her sharp lyricism, unfiltered passion and the fire many had previously sidestepped.
Audiences first discovered her through For My Tittas, before Our Lives Matter cemented her as a nationally recognised and celebrated voice. Her debut EP Blak Matriarchy (2022) earned two ARIA nominations and a National Indigenous Music Award, with widespread praise from triple j, Red Bull, Acclaim and the FBi SMAC Awards.
2024 marked her biggest year yet — releasing Big Tidda, selling out the Sydney Opera House for VIVID, touring nationally and earning an ARIA nomination for Best Live Act. In 2025, she opened the year performing to 90,000, solidifying her as a formidable force.
