🇨🇿 Poslední koncert umělecké rezidence Barbary Hannigan na Pražském jaru 2026 nabídne dobrodružný výlet do hudebních světů čtyř zdánlivě nesourodých skladatelů. Program otevře legendární skladba Nezodpovězená otázka Charlese Ivese, amerického hudebního vizionáře a zakladatele Ives & Myrick Insurance Company. Po této šestiminutové, lehce filozofující introdukci bude následovat dílo snad ještě nevšednější – skvěle vypointovaná Symfonie č. 45 Josepha Haydna s přízviskem „Na odchodnou“. Druhá polovina večera spojí ranou tvorbu Arnolda Schönberga, ovlivněnou Wagnerovým Tristanem a Isoldou a erotickým, symbolistním rázem dekadentní poezie Richarda Dehmela, s hudbou jednoho z největších hitmakerů 20. století George Gershwina. Po Zjasněné noci roztančí Rudolfinum suita z muzikálu Girl Crazy a slavné hity jako I Got Rhythm nebo Embraceable You, ve kterých se hráči České filharmonie na chvíli změní v pěvecký sbor! 🇬🇧 The final concert given by Artist-in-Residence Barbara Hannigan at the Prague Spring 2026 takes us on an adventure into the musical worlds of four seemingly disparate composers. The programme will open with the legendary piece The Unanswered Question by Charles Ives, American musical visionary and founder of the Ives & Myrick Insurance Company. This six-minute, lightly philosophical introduction will be followed by a work that is perhaps even more unusual – Joseph Haydn’s wonderfully pointed Symphony No. 45, known as the Farewell Symphony. The second half of the evening brings together an early composition by Arnold Schoenberg, influenced by Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and the erotic, symbolist complexion of Richard Dehmel’s decadent poetry, with the music of one of the greatest hitmakers of the 20th century, George Gershwin. After Verklärte Nacht the Rudolfinum will come alive with the suite from the musical Girl Crazy and celebrated hits such as I Got Rhythm and Embraceable You, in which Czech Philharmonic players will try their hand at chorus singing! This is the final evening with singer and conductor Barbara Hannigan, recipient of the Grammy Award and Gramophone’s Artist of the Year title, as she bids a somewhat crazy farewell to the Prague Spring.
