In honor of Banned Books Week, join us for an evening of fun & exciting community programming!
About this Event

In honor of Banned Books Week, we'll be hosting a Banned Books Read-in from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 6. We'll provide cozy refreshments and invite readers to come in and read their favorite banned book; feel free to BYO or buy one from our display! We will also encourage participants to contribute to our "Why I Read Banned Books" mural that, when complete, will hang in our front window.

At 6:15 p.m., our friends at will present a reading of "Ban the Bans," a new one act play that dramatizes the American refusal to accept state forbidden expression and thought. Lastly, our Banned Books Group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to discuss Native Son by Richard Wright. Join us for some or all of the evening's programming!
