About this Event
Banned Book Club: Banned Badges Workshop (Pride Edition)
Thursday 25th June 2026
6:30pm – 8:00pm | Heal, Harrogate
Free entry
Explore stories, resistance, and identity through the art of pin making in this Pride edition of Banned Book Club at Heal.
Join us for a hands-on creative workshop inspired by queer badge culture of the 70s and 80s, where self expression, creativity, and community come together. Design your own pins using references from banned books, powerful quotes, and imagery that speaks to visibility and resistance. Selected designs will be sold to raise funds for Mermaids, a UK charity supporting trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse young people and their families.
Badges have long been used as symbols of identity, solidarity, and protest, and this workshop continues that tradition in a contemporary Pride context.
