Of special interest to Halifax Civic Trust is the extensive collection of Soil Hill Pottery housed in both Bankfield Museum and Shibden Hall .This collection of 20 items which was formally part of the Peter Strong Collection was in 2002 transferred to the Halifax Civic Trust and is currently held in trust.
Major internal redecoration and renovation work currently under way is expected to be completed before our visit.
Bankfield Museum , a beautiful grade 2 listed historic house, notable since 1887 as a local museum telling the story of Halifax and Calderdale including the history of the Duke of Wellington Regiment and housing the popular textile gallery .
