Let's get gather in community to celebrate Earth Day with a Banfield Park cleanup, action-based climate talk, and three channel, multi-genre silent disco!
The Nulla Project & Silent DJ Victoria are collaborating again to bring you another unforgettable Earth Day Celebration-- a combination of being of service, learning together & pledging action steps, and dancing. Dance & Joy are powerful acts of resistance in these times.
FLOW OF THE AFTERNOON:
PARK CLEANUP: 1-2pm
CLIMATE TALK: 2-3pm
SILENT DISCO: 3-5pm (3 Djs, 3 channels, all playing at the same time so you can switch between genres)
MUSIC:
Channel 1: House music DJs (TBA)
Channel 2: with DJ Britta Dee, aka Brittany Dunstan
CHANNEL 3: eclectic ecstatic dance music--a mix of global fusion, tribal percussion, disco, funk, & pop dance hits with SISTr aka Mary Lloyd
... Feel the music deep in your bones, let loose, and have a blast, surrounded by incredible natural beauty. Bring some friends & family or come solo and meet like-minded new friends.

$10-$15-$20 Sliding Scale- for adults who do the park cleanup &/or climate talk (you choose)

-free Volunteer spots available: we need volunteers to help set up at 1pm & hand out headsets at 2:45pm or pack up at 5pm
MORE INFO:
-Some materials for the park cleanup will be provided, thanks to Surfrider; if you have extra tongs, gardening gloves & buckets, please bring them!
-During the Climate Talk, we'll be lead through the Pachamama Alliance’s “four levels of action” framework and other actions we can take in our community
-You can join in at any point in the afternoon
-Walk, bike, or ride the bus, if you can. There are bike racks off Styles St., near the dock
-Partial proceeds go to The NULLA Project, a Victoria-based initiative that aims to improve single use, "To Go" culture with its reusable containers, cups and glasses. The founders will be at the park cleanup, climate talk, & silent disco to answer any questions.. and they'll be offering cultured kombucha by donation too!
BRING:
-Dress for the weather, bring lots of water, and bring your moves and your glow & flow toys, if you’d like to add some extra fun to your dance experience! We'll supply some dance props too.
