NARCISSUS aus Mainz: Als nicht-binärer Singer-Songwriter singt Narcissus über eigene Erfahrungen und schreibt aus dem Leben gegriffene Lieder, verpackt in sanftem Indie-Pop-Sound.
BARBORA HORA’s music consists of two equal elements; minimalistic, yet detailed guitar lines with authentic vocal expression. In her poetry, the performer tackles the unexpected pitfalls of everyday life through a sensitive feminist lens. Her music has been compared to acts such as Adrianne Lenker or Jessica Pratt.
Atmospheric singer-songwriter invites us into her overgrown heart with her music. Her work is a blend of folk, country and indie rock. In mid December last year she released the EP Forgotten garden, wild growth pt.I, which speaks for itself. The music is immersive and nostalgic. At the same time, it deals with the sometimes oppressive present of our inner worlds. The mind is like a garden on the EP, growing willy-nilly through past experiences - whether they are pleasant or not. And into this Barbora enters and tries to remove all the weeds, even though it is a Sisyphean job after all. The EP will be followed by “part II”, expected to be released in summer 2025.
In the tender, sophisticatedly composed music, tiny details of the corners of everyday life are connected in intricate lyrical webs that reveal the author's peculiar view of the world. Unusual, masterfully played guitar lines are combined with thoughtful arrangements, often inspired by the origins of American country music, but not afraid of contemporary indie music influences and at certain moments also refer to the performer's work as a member of the indie/post-rock band Whyohwhy. Barbora manages to strike a balance between minimalism and grand instrumentations without at any point losing the authentic sound and charm that the listener would search in vain for in anyone else's music.
CARDO & DECUMANUS is the solo project of Václav Orcígr (currently guitar in czech emo-punk band 50m Znak, cello in international outfit Paramount Styles, formerly bass guitar in noise-rock bands Or and Vlněna, cello in a neo-classical duo MaVa), in which he moves from the usually louder positions of his current and former projects to a quieter one. The resulting collage of inspirations brings to mind classic Czech country (Severní nástupiště, Vladimír Merta, from international acts we can mention for example Iron&Wine) and darker neo-folk projects, such as King Dude or Of the Wand and the Moon. Lyrically, the songs (sung in Czech language) are organized around more intimate emotional statements, often with loose chains of association.
