Firstly, a HUGE thanks from all of us at Banbury Soul Club to those who attended our last event. Our next event of 2024 will be Banbury Soul Clubs 21st anniversary on Saturday 9th November, 7.30pm to 00.30am.
A remarkable achievement I’m sure you will agree.
Please note the earlier and later start times.
After our last event we had numerous requests to bring back Ian “Hammie” Hamilton as a guest DJ.
So who are we to ignore requests?
Banbury Soul Club are pleased to welcome back Ian “Hammie” Hamilton for our 21st Anniversary night celebrations.
Ian is a well known and respected DJ on the soul scene.
His appearances are too numerous to mention but include Teddington, St. Ives reunion, the Sunny Hunny Soul weekender and Skegness Original Soul weekender and The Dome.
Ian has a fantastic collection of rarities and is guaranteed to provide an excellent hour of entertainment.
For those that haven’t been before please make sure you come along and enjoy a superb soulful night’s entertainment for only £5.
Anyway, onto the night itself.
Those who have attended previously know the format for the evening.
As always, the emphasis is on quality and enjoyment.
Charlie, Steve, Tom and Dave the resident DJ’s will be playing their own selections of danceable soul music to guarantee a brilliant night.
Expect to hear sounds from the last 50 years covering all genres, tempos and styles.
In summary this will genuinely be a “something for everyone” evening.
Anyway, we all hope to see you all on Saturday 9th November, 7.30pm to 00.30am.
For those who have not been to the venue before the Banbury United Clubhouse has recently been refurbished, new decorations and a brand new dance floor, along with the free car park immediately outside the clubhouse.
With a raised stage, main wooden dancefloor and with seating and tables on both sides.
Another plus is its all on ground floor level with no stairs to contend with.
Hopefully this will give you an idea of the layout and how it’s ideally suited for a night of soul music.
For people with mobility issues the Club has disabled toilet facilities.
Some people are still having difficulties finding The Banbury United Clubhouse location.
Unfortunately, Satnavs will only get you part of the way.
The only access to the club is by way of the Station Approach Road.
After turning into Station Approach the main railway station, train drop off point and taxi rank is immediately on the left.
You need to take the narrow roadway on the extreme right to find the Clubhouse and follow this road all the way to the ground.
The clubhouse is approx. 0.5 miles down this road.
Turn right into the Clubhouse car park which is well lit.
If you do get lost the taxi drivers are usually very helpful and will point you in the right direction.
Pay on the door is still only £5.00.
For all Satnav users the full address as below.
