Ballyhoo! featuring special guests Artikal Sound System and SensamotionBallyhoo! has spent 25 years making music and releasing eight albums, the last four on their own RightCoast Records. Formed by brothers Howi and Donald Spangler in their Aberdeen, MD basement, the band started as a punk act inspired by Green Day and Nirvana, before embracing ska influences from bands like Sublime and No Doubt. Their latest album, Message to the World, is a ska-infused, hook-filled record that reflects their growth as “beach-rockers” balancing adulthood with their dreams of success.
Ballyhoo!’s music has evolved from the raw, punk energy of Detonate (2018) to the island reggae vibes of Message to the World. The band’s ethos, according to Howi, is simple: focus on your passion, make good music, and let the rest follow. Known for their positive energy and fun live shows, Ballyhoo! continues to spread good vibes while staying true to their roots.
