Ballet Magnificat's The Call
Come witness the breathtaking performance of The Call by Ballet Magnificat on the Rome City Auditorium stage! Prepare to experience the artistic grace and athletic skill of this world-renowned company as they bring emotional events from the 1950s to life.
The Call shares the story of Elisabeth Elliot, beginning with her courtship with Jim Elliot before they joined the mission field in the Ecuador jungle. The performance demonstrates the growing passion and thrill that Jim shared with his friend, Pete Fleming, missionary aviator Nate Saint, and two other missionaries as they sought to bring the Gospel story to a hostile native tribe. Feel the tension and shock of the tragic silence that Elisabeth and the other young mothers experienced when they realized that their husbands would not return from their mission. America was shocked by the dramatic coverage in Life Magazine. Within a few short months, Elisabeth joins with Rachel Saint (sister of mission aviator Nate) to share the miracle of God’s forgiveness by ministering to the very tribe that butchered her husband Jim, Nate Saint, and the other missionaries.
Elisabeth’s story ironically shares parallels to recent events in Utah, where a hostile projectile slew Charlie Kirk and his wife Erika, herself a young mother, who very publicly and dramatically forgave the young man who killed her husband.
This is a love story, a love story on many levels. It is a story appropriate for all age levels.
