About this Event
Ballers x Oxide: Baseball Technology Hackathon
Access to player development technology in baseball is wildly uneven, and the gap is continually growing.
At the highest levels of the game, tools like Trackman and Yakkertech shape how players train, how coaches teach, and how talent gets identified. But these systems are prohibitively expensive for most youth baseball programs.
We think that should change.
The Oakland Ballers and Oxide are bringing together engineers, designers, builders, baseball minds, and creative technologists for a one-day hardware + software hackathon focused on a single challenge:
Can we build a dramatically more affordable version of baseball tracking technology?
Teams will work toward real prototypes that could eventually support local Little League and Babe Ruth programs.
Potential project areas include:
- Ball tracking (velocity, spin, trajectory)
- Bat tracking (exit velocity, launch angle)
- Computer vision + sensor systems
- Simple analytics tools for coaches and players
- Accessible training and development technology
This isn’t just an event. It’s an attempt to level the playing field in youth baseball.
What to Expect
- Team formation + collaboration
- Hands-on hardware & software prototyping
- Live demos and judging
- Networking with builders, technologists, and baseball leaders
Finalists + Winner Announcement
Winning teams and finalists will be showcased during Little League Day at Raimondi Park on June 18th, 2026.
