Ever curious about Chinese Medicine and how it works to balance the body? Do you want to explore how yoga and acupressure can help you find vibrancy and ease this winter? This workshop is for you! In this workshop, we will deep-dive into the tools of acupressure, yoga and relaxation to balance our whole beings for the winter season.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we have reached the element of Water, the time of Winter. Looking around at nature, we notice the land is quieter, the gardens and animals are resting and storing their resources. The energy is deep, powerful, and contemplative. The most yin of seasons, it is a time to slow down and nourish our vital essence in preparation for the bursting forth of Spring to come. This is the time of Winter.
In our workshop, we will explore the principles of Chinese Medicine and Five Element Theory. We will learn how acupressure works, how to hold acu-points, and how it all relates to yoga. Through the lens of Chinese Medicine, we will better understand the winter season and what often arises physically, emotionally, and mentally. We’ll have some time for self-reflection, and most importantly learn how we can harness these powerful tools of yoga and acupressure for healing and balance in our daily lives.
After our deep-dive discussion, we will open up our bodies in a mindful yoga practice geared towards balancing the winter meridians. After our yoga practice, we will settle into holding specific acupressure points on ourselves that are designed to further balance the winter energy. Class will end with a longer guided relaxation designed to help you let go and integrate the effects of your practice.
Please wear cozy clothing with layers that you can adjust as you move or relax. A self-practice journey, we will be using our fingers or other tools (a therapy ball, etc.) to help us hold acupoints on ourselves.
Prepare to unwind, have some aha’s, and feel empowered to support yourself!
