We've really appreciated the enthusiasm and energy Guelph folks are bringing to these dance nights! These events have been selling out so consider reserving your ticket early.
“Vinta provides a huge breath of fresh air with their wonderful, creative reimagining of Balfolk dance forms. Their original compositions blend perfectly with their traditional material and their playing is uniformly top notch.
What really strikes me are their completely sympathetic arrangements and tuned in, dynamic ensemble playing; always on the same page and always finding the right unanimous groove.
- James Stephens, Artistic Director, Gatineau Hills Fiddle Festival
Vinta brings you into their love of European traditional fiddle music, from the familiar romantic atmosphere of French waltzes and mazurkas, to the unexpected, often ethereal sounds of rural folk dance music from across the continent. With traditional and original tunes tailored for concert halls and dance halls alike, Vinta’s inspiring performances - featuring multiple fiddles, accordions, clarinets, and a double bass - turn any hall into a party. They’ve released 9 EPs of traditional music, toured in France, Germany, and Belgium, and released an album of original tunes “Beacons” currently nominated for 2 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
