BAKLA, meaning gay or queer in Tagalog, is a week-long showcase of creative works and community events exploring and celebrating Te Whanganui-a-Tara's Filipino queerness. The exhibition centres creative expression through photography, illustration, animation, textile, and poetry. BAKLA will be open to the public from 16-21 June at Thistle Hall, Te Aro 🌌
