Bake the Book Club: Lebanese Baking

Welcome to Bake the Book Club, Coastal Table and Tales’ way to bake the books—together.

For our March gathering, we’re baking from Lebanese Baking by Maureen Abood. Abood focuses on the core flavors that define Lebanese baking—orange blossom water, rosewater, pistachios, walnuts, dates, sesame, honey, and semolina. Many of the recipes are the pastries served during holidays, religious celebrations, and family gatherings, but they are written in a way that makes them approachable for modern home bakers.

This is not a baking class or demonstration. It’s a potluck-style club centered on baking, storytelling, and community.

Coastal Table and Tales will provide beverages, both warm and cold.

Anyone is welcome to attend. All attendees must register in advance and bring a shareable baked item made from Lebanese Baking.

This event follows the same format as our cookbook club, Stories on a Plate:

1. Register for the event (registration is required for all attendees).
2. Visit Coastal Table and Tales before the event to flip through Lebanese Baking and select a recipe.
3. No purchase required. If you decide to buy the book on the day of the event, you'll receive a 15% discount.
4. Complete the Google Form we’ll send after registration, noting:

+Your name
+The recipe you selected
+The page number

1. Bake your chosen recipe at home and bring a shareable portion to the gathering. We’ll gather to sample, swap notes, talk cookbooks—and

• A shareable portion of a baked recipe from Lebanese Baking
• A serving utensil, if needed
• A container for leftovers (optional, but practical)

Due to limited seating and special guest participation, no refunds can be processed for this event. If you cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to a friend—please notify us of the name change.
