Kick off our PROUD2BE Annual Black History Month celebrations with the first of Badu Cafe’s key spotlight events this October. Badu Cafe, a Black-owned hub for creativity, conversation, and connection, is activating its space to celebrate, elevate, and honour Black culture and community.
SWAP IT LIKE IT'S HOT is for everyone who loves music, culture, and connection — you don’t need to be a vinyl collector to join. Whether you want to listen, discover new sounds, connect with others, or simply soak in the atmosphere, this event is designed to bring people together in a space that celebrates Black Origin music, pride, and creativity.
Attendees can:
- Swap or showcase vinyl records, or simply enjoy listening and discovering new music.
- Engage with culturally-inspired games that reflect heritage and creativity.
- Connect with community members, creatives, and allies in a welcoming, inclusive space.
- Enjoy Badu Cafe’s exceptional menu, featuring Jerk plantain rolls, patties, vegan and halal options, specialty drinks, and a curated collection of cakes and sweet treats.
This is more than a music event — it’s a space to celebrate Black artistry, culture, and community intentionally, using Badu Cafe as a hub to spark conversation, connection, and pride in our heritage.
