About this Event
Bad Africans is our 2025 selection for the Gender & Sexuality Center for Queer & Trans Life's annual Creative Expression program honoring Trans Day of Visibility.
The piece is a multimedia ode to African queerness in the black diaspora that positions afrocentric queer forms of expression as fine art through a Gen-Z lens. The evening features a play performance by Ibimina Dominique Thompson and panel conversation with guest artist, N'Yomi Stewart to follow.
Bad Africans is a play that follows a young African influencer and their need to go home whilst being unable to go back. We follow them through memories to find out what is the guide for an African in a white world? What is the role of the black influencer?
This play has mature language and is not intended for young audiences.
