Learn everything you need to know about growing a vegetable, herb, and edible flower garden in Alaska using sustainable organic practices.
You will learn about garden styles, building raised beds vs. in-ground gardens vs. container gardens, soil health and plant selection for your particular microclimate -your yard, property, or patio! Also, we'll talk about economical solutions for sourcing materials, how to fill raised beds without breaking the bank and the simplicity and versatility of container gardening in small spaces.
You will walk away from this workshop knowing exactly how to start your garden and have the confidence and resources to make it happen!

I’m Jen Merrell, an Organic Gardener, Garden Consultant, Wellness Practitioner and classically trained French Chef (insert fancy mustache) here to share the knowledge, successes, and discoveries I've gathered in more than a decade of gardening and 20+ years of cooking delicious food.
I'm here top share the exact methods I use to cultivate my organic culinary garden and backyard oasis.

Here I provide weekly tips and to-do lists for maintenance, watering, weeding, pest-control, and troubleshooting. Bring your questions to our weekly Zoom meetings. You will have the confidence to grow greens, herbs, vining plants, and edible flowers that impress your guests, delight your senses and nourish your body. You’ll know exactly where your food comes from, when to harvest at peak freshness, and how to use your bounty in the kitchen.
