Join us to learn all about the fascinating world of backyard birds.
Our guest, Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum director, Karly Tumminello will lead the families on a birding adventure.
We will start in the learning garden with an overview of binocular use and learn how to view birds. The education will continue indoors with a backyard bird presentation. Learn how to identify birds using sight, sound, and the unique features of each species. We’ll end the evening looking at the museum’s amazing specimens for an up close look at birds.
This interactive event is perfect for young birding enthusiasts. Come and discover the diverse species of birds that visit our backyards.

All are welcome to attend.
We will meet in the learning garden and then move to the basement of the church.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum focuses on promoting accurate information about the world's natural and cultural biodiversity. The museum director/curator, Karly Tumminello, has a master's degree in Anthropology from Northern Illinois University. She is a Certified Illinois Master Naturalist and serves on the board of the Environmental Education Association of Illinois. Also joining us will be museum volunteer, Don Arnold, a Certified Illinois Master Naturalist. He is also an environmental steward and pile burn boss with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.
