About this Event

Come celebrate Ron Newmyer's birthday with an extaordinary "backstage" conversation and a bonus post-discussion concert. The Ronnie Newmyer Allstars will perform a full set of songs by The Newkeys and Grin. This stellar lineup includes Tom Lofgren, Bob Berberich, Mike Lofgren, Chuck Sullivan, and Dave Egelhofer.

From Woodstock to the White House, Ron Newmyer has stories to tell. By the time he was 12, he’d seen The Beatles TWICE. At age 15, he found himself alone in a crowded field at Woodstock. By age 17, he’d seen the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix (again).

As a seasoned musician himself, Ronnie has graced the stage with luminaries such as Chuck Berry, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, Clarence Clemmons, Johnny Badanjek, and Max Weinberg. With over 40 years in the industry, Ronnie's musical odyssey includes four world tours as an integral part of Nils Lofgren's band.

Locally, Ron has performed with countless musicians including Bill Holland, Tommy Lepson, Bob Berberich, Tommy Keene, and Tom Lofgren.

In 2004, Ron co-founded BandHouse Gigs (with Chuck Sullivan)as a direct result of a successful Nils Lofgren tribute concert at Strathmore. Since then he has orchestrated 38 unique concerts featuring over 1,000 musicians. His tireless passion led to the creation of Newmyer Flyer in 2013, producing an additional 25 musical productions. Ronnie's concert production legacy extends to renowned venues like Warner Theater, The Birchmere, Wolf Trap, Strathmore, The Hamilton, and Rams Head.

Yea, Ronnie Newmyer has some stories.

We will explore Ronnie Newmyer's remarkable life and musical odyssey with Mark Segraves of NBC4 and the After Dark Fund leading this one of a kind conversation. Don't miss your chance to be at this one of a kind performance....Backstage at the Sanctuary.
