Kathy Reyes brings over 15 years of professional experience teaching, performing, and judging Latin dance competitions both locally and internationally. She gained national recognition after winning her first Bachata competition in Los Angeles in 2010, establishing herself as one of LA’s top Bachata dancers. Kathy has also choreographed music videos and performed as a backup dancer for renowned Latin artists including Prince Royce, Sensato, Freddy Muñoz, Sami Cultura, and Janny Marko.
Now based at Ashkenaz in Berkeley, CA, Kathy teaches weekly classes and is the founder of KRD Company. She is the Artistic Director of Salsa at Cal, producer of monthly Latin dance socials in the East Bay, and creator of the annual BELLA Dance Weekender, a Women’s History Month celebration highlighting women in dance.
KRDance Teams launched in 2017 shortly after Kathy relocated from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. Since then, KRD has performed at numerous local events, festivals, and private functions, and has placed 2nd and 3rd in regional dance competitions.
