In this bold, contemporary staging of Bach’s St John Passion, the story of life, death and resurrection, the drama is brought vividly to life in English, offering fresh clarity and immediacy to one of the most powerful works in the choral repertoire. This performance brings together the exceptional artistry of the Britten Sinfonia with a distinguished cast of emerging soloists from William Christie’s Les Arts Florissants and Le Jardin des Voix. The acclaimed Brighton Festival Chorus and Youth Choir perform entirely from memory, moving fluidly through the space to create an immersive, boundary-free experience in which audience and performers are drawn into a shared musical world.
