BAAK-LAY 2026 is an evening of music, theatre, and storytelling that brings together diverse artistic expressions in a vibrant celebration of culture and performance.
The event features Bohe Dhara – A Bouquet of Woven Melodies — a soulful live musical presentation by Arup Chowdhury, featuring Rabindrasangeet, the timeless compositions of Salil Chowdhury, and melodies woven from diverse musical traditions.
The evening also presents Jaga Khichuri — a satirical theatrical farce inspired by Nelson Mandela’s reflection on the importance of education and its role in shaping society. Originally written by Bibhas Chakraborty and adapted & directed by Kamal Chattopadhyay, the production features Pradip Bhattacharya, Kamal Chattopadhyay, and the artistes of Chakdaha Natyajan. Blending humour, irony, and social commentary, the play promises a compelling and memorable theatrical experience.
