UWI Visual Arts Unit - Final-year Degree Exhibition 2025The UWI Visual Arts Unit has partnered with the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ASTT) to host an exhibition of fine art works by students in their final year of the Visual Arts Degree programme. The show will be open to the public at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ASTT) from today April 9 to April 19, 2025.
The show is an impressive collection of artworks. Audiences can enjoy direct interaction with creative works for ten days. The art on display address the current creative concerns of our graduates as they embark upon acceptance into the larger artistic society.
Viewers can expect a range of artforms, such as painting and sculpture. Works at the ASTT explore diverse themes, including portrayals of femininity, physical trauma, loss, grief, notions of desire, metphorical consumption and obsession. Hinduism and the afterlife, the psychological impact of the concept of death.
The public is invited to attend an artist talk at the ASTT on Thursday April 17, 2025 at 5-7pm. Come and join our students in a conversation about their art making process, the relevance of creative expression in fostering health, wellbeing and discover how art making can lead us into creating community with each other.
The exhibition represents a culmination of years of study in fine art and provides a vital opportunity for students to engage wide audiences, share ideas and have meaningful dialogue.
