Our bi-annual plant sales are hosted the Mesa-Lehi area in a beautiful field that is part of the Lehi Montessori School. The site is easily accessed near the Gilbert Rd exit off I-202 (Red Mountain Freeway). See Google Maps: 2415 North Terrace Circle, Mesa AZ 85203
The school is located in a residential setting, surrounded by lush, flood-irrigated lots, with it's own site being the start of a fruit growers paradise and a gorgeous setting for a plant sale! As you drive into the neighborhood, you will most likely pass by the occasional horseback rider, too.
PLANT LIST:
Our AZRFG members bring a varied list of plants, and also homemade food, EGGS!, soil supplements and gardening items.
The available plants are a mix of member-grown plants and also tissue culture starter plants (laboratory-grown).
As we update the plant list (starting April 1st), we will do our best to indicate approximate quantities of each type and variety that will be at the sale.
PRICES:
Prices usually range from a few dollars to $30, with larger or more rare items priced higher. Individual prices are set by each grower in the last days leading up to the sale, and generally not posted here beforehand.
Cash and Credit/Debit cards accepted (NO minimum)
Helpful notes about our sale:
Opening Time:
The plant sale will not be open for browsing or shopping before the 9:00 AM start time. We appreciate your enthusiasm to get to the sale early, but ask your understanding that we must enforce the 9:00 start. A line forms before we open, and again for the cashier check-out during the first hour or two that we are open -- but it moves very quickly!
Who can bring plants to sell?
You must be a registered AZRFG member to sell plants or supplies at this sale. To become a member, sign up at crfg.org/join or contact us at [email protected]
Accessibility:
Our sale area is set-up on an open grassy area, mostly flat, but with only a slightly sloped area around the perimeter. We try to space the tables or ground areas with lots of room for mingling, and for folks who bring small, wheeled shopping wagons/carts. Shoppers find it very helpful to bring their own carts for collecting all the plants they find at the sale!
Fun things to do at the sale:
* Ask the Fruit Guy! (Q&A table - ALSO, members will be on hand everywhere to help you out and gab about fruit growing!)
*AZ Herb Association: 4" potted starter lants and garden accessories
* Bake Sale & Garden Art: Lehi art students create gardening goods especially for each sale. Also, families make fresh baked goods for the sale to help support Lehi Montessori!
PARKING:
The school is in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
We are asking shoppers to park along Lehi Rd (both sides of the roadway are safe, with roomy shoulder areas.
After you make your purchases, if you prefer not to carry back to your car, there will be a LOAD/UNLOAD ONLY space in the small parking lot at the school entrance.
PLEASE NOTE: We "reserve" our Volunteer Parking to areas on the residential road that dead ends into a cul de sac (Terrace Rd). We designate this for our members/volunteers at the request of neighbors of minimizing constant traffic activity moving in and out of the area and disturbing neighbors.
