Join us for an enlightening introduction to Ayurveda, the ancient science of holistic healing that has been practiced for over 5,000 years. In this 2-hour workshop, you'll explore the foundations of Ayurveda and how it can be applied to your daily life to achieve balance, health, and well-being. This workshop will be led by guest teacher, Phyllis E Parker-Bertun, Certified Ayurveda Health Councilor through NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association).
Through engaging discussions and practical demonstrations, we’ll cover the following:
-The 3 Doshas: Unique energies that govern your physical, emotional, and mental states
-Using Ayurveda as preventative medicine
-Biology of the elements beginning at the cellular level
-Understanding how food can be medicine and how to nourish your body based on your dosha type, the seasons, and your individual needs
-Prakrti/Vikriti -what you are born with and what has changed; change brings symptoms
-Understanding “ama” – toxins and how they lead to illness/disease
-Building immunity
-Yoga as a treatment for healthy digestion
Whether you're a beginner or have some knowledge of Ayurveda, this workshop is designed to provide valuable insights that will empower you to bring the wisdom of Ayurveda into your daily life.
