About this Event
Ivan and Guille are the Forest School Leaders who co-found Muddy Mountains Forest School, with more than five years of experience leading outdoor learning and forest school experiences with children between 4 and 10 year old.
They are both very excited to open up the space to adults by leading an introduction to green woodwork workshop. As a group you will have a look at some of the tools that they use during a forest school session, explaining their main purpose, and how to use them safely and effectively. They will also introduce various types of local green wood available, discuss some of their characteristics, how to use them sustainably and provide a few resources with woodwork ideas.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and play with the different tools and wood and try any ideas depending on their interest and skills.
Meeting point: We'll meet at the car on the corner where Midmar drive and the Hermitage drive meet. - For sustainability purposes please cycle, walk, bus to the site
Meeting time: 10:00
What to bring: You may want to consider wearing waterproofs, warm clothing, appropriate outdoor footwear as we will be outside for 4 hrs. You may also want to bring your own lunch, a hot beverage or waterbottle.
What will be provided: Homemade treat, hot chocolate, tea, tools to work with, a tarp for cover from the rain (weather dependent) and more...
