AWỌ invites you, your family, and friends to Women in Action (WIA) 2026: Stilettos & Sneakers — A Tribute to Women’s Sports, a vibrant, community-centered celebration honoring women’s participation, resilience, and achievement in sports.
Rooted in storytelling, sports, and social responsibility, Stilettos & Sneakers uplifts the journeys of women and girls in sports—the victories, the setbacks, the sacrifices, and the systems that still require challenging. While we celebrate progress, we also hold space for accountability around pay equity, access, representation, sponsorship, and professional opportunity in women’s sports.
This year’s gathering blends purpose with joy, creating an evening that feels as dynamic as the communities it represents. Through engagement, laughter, music, food, and dance, WIA 2026 honors women in sports in ways that are both reflective and celebratory.
The evening will feature:
Dress Code: Cocktail with A Touch of Teal
- A community screening highlighting women’s achievements in sports across the globe and the impact of women’s sports on community
- Intentional dialogue and talk-back sessions amplifying diverse voices and lived experiences of women in sports
- Interactive activities, including conversation cards, sports trivia and a community soundtrack shoutout
- Address by Councilmember Michael Mulcahy
- Live performances
- Live Music, and live DJ to close the night with connection and movement
- Catered food for purcahse
- Support our local women led small businesses
Women in Action (WIA) exists to spotlight, support, and elevate women driving change across communities. When women’s voices go unheard, we all lose the full spectrum of leadership, resilience, and impact. Through WIA, AWỌ fosters visibility, ignites advocacy, and builds a culture where gender equity is not an afterthought—but a foundation for collective progress.
