The Australian Women in D.C. invites you to join our first event for 2026, celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD)


Inspiring Global Career Paths – Insights on Navigating and Creating Opportunities

Time: 5:30pm-8pm

After rapidly sold out events last year, the Australian Women in D.C. are hosting an exclusive evening in celebration of International Women’s Day - Inspiring Global Career Paths - Insights on Navigating and Creating Opportunities.

Come and meet friends, mingle, enjoy some good Australian hospitality before and after our event at the Embassy of Australia.

We will also feature a diverse panel of American and Australian leaders from a wide variety of industries – sharing insights on their global career paths and journeys.


Timing

Join us at 530pm for pre-event networking and drinks.

We will commence promptly at 6pm

We will conclude with drinks and post-event networking between 7:30-8pm.

Please expet TSA-like security at the Embassy. Once past the security checkpoint, please proceed inside and join us for drinks and a fantastic night!

Parking Options:

Very limited one or two-hour zone and meter parking on nearby streets, however no available parking directly outside the Embassy.

Colonial Parking Station - 1625 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington D.C.

By Metro:

Closest Metro stop - Farragut West Metro Station (blue, orange, and silver lines)

By Train:

Amtrak to Union Station

Maryland Commuter Rail (MARC) to Union Station

Background Information

The Australian Women in DC (AWDC) is a nonprofit executive networking forum, open to everyone. Led by a volunteer senior executive Organizing Committee, we arrange several sell-out events each year celebrating and bringing together the intersections of interesting people and industries in D.C. - business, investment, government, politics, diplomacy, science, arts, sports, academia, think tanks, nonprofits, national security, media and more – and making the most of being in D.C., enjoying various iconic locations.

You don't have to be Australian, a woman or in D.C. - just one of those things will do. We celebrate and highlight female leadership and the camaraderie of the US-Australia alliance and partnership. We are formed within the 501(c)3 structure of the , we work in partnership with the Embassy of Australia. We have a volunteer Organizing Committee and our Patron is .
