About this Event
The motive force behind our endeavor at Clio’s is fostering conversation about books and ideas. Our community programming continues with the monthly "Award Winners" book club. This month the club will read by Nobel Laureate Naguib Mahfouz.
The decades after WWII saw a wave of anti-colonial revolts and neo-colonial riposte. At the heart of these struggles were the lives of regular people, who were made and themselves made these struggles concrete. Miramar takes its readers to a boarding home in Alexandria, Egypt, where it presents these tensions and the formation of a new world.
