About this Event
The motive force behind our endeavor at Clio’s is fostering conversation about books and ideas. Our community programming continues with the monthly "Award Winners" book club. This month the club will read by Nobel Laureate Louise Glück.
Averno takes the reader through the gates of hell. The poems within embrace the Roman adaption of Hades' abduction of Persephone to explore themes of love, loneliness, and, of course, death. Considered a "modern classic," it was a finalist for the National Book Award for Poetry in 2006.
